Did you know that the State of Utah offers four major scholarships for qualifying students? These scholarships include two academic, one new need-based scholarship, and one teaching scholarship. So, no matter what your circumstances or career plans are, chances are there’s a scholarship for you!
Utah Promise Scholarship: For students needing financial assistance to pay for college.
- Is available at all public colleges and universities in Utah, including technical colleges
- Will cover up to tuition and fees for up to two years and is awarded after all other grants, tuition waivers, fee waivers, and scholarships have been applied for students with financial need
- Is available to those with a high school diploma or equivalent, including adult learners

T.H. Bell Education Scholarship (for future educators)

If so, the T.H. Bell Scholarship may be for you!
If you’re interested in going into the teaching profession in Utah, talk to your counselor or a Utah college financial aid office to see if they offer an approved program.
Student must study education to be eligible; this may include special education teachers, speech or language pathologists, or other licensed professionals who provide services to students with disabilities. The T.H. Bell Scholarship can be used at all public or private colleges in Utah that offer approved programs: Brigham Young University, Dixie State University, Salt Lake Community College, Snow College, Southern Utah University, University of Utah, Utah State University, Utah Valley University, Weber State University, Western Governors University, and Westminster College.
Prioritization of the scholarship is given first to first-generation students who intend to enter the teaching profession, second to those who intend to work in high-need fields, and third to all other applicants.
The Regents’ Scholarship is an academic scholarship that students can earn by taking classes in high school to prepare for college. The scholarship can be used at public colleges in Utah, including technical colleges.

New Century Scholarship
Students who accelerate their college education by earning an associate degree or by completing a math and science track in high school, could qualify for the New Century Scholarship. The scholarship can be used at any Utah public college that grants bachelor’s degrees.
